Three “D” Stock Farms Private Treaty Pig Sale – Bids due April 7, 2012 by 6 p.m. December/early January pigs available for viewing starting March 24th.   Late January/early February pigs available for viewing March 31st.   Please call to schedule a visit.  A sampling of our offering will be posted on the showpigs link soon.

Spring is almost here, and that means an abundance of pig litters and calves hitting the ground.   Show pigs will be available private treaty on the farm starting the first weekend in April.   Purebred and crossbred offerings.   For our Eastern customers, mark your calendars for Saturday, April 14, 2012.  The Eastern Power Pig, Lamb and Goat Sale will be held at G & G Club Lambs in Halifax, PA.   Three “D” Stock Farms will be offering 18-20 quality show pigs.   We are up to half a dozen calves on the ground, including a nice Monopoly bull calf and a Hawkeye heifer.   The bulk of the calves are due mid-March through early April.  Calf pics will be posted later this spring.   Check back in early April on the showpigs link for sale pictures.

Updated calf pictures are posted on the cattle link as of today.  The calves handled weaning quite well and we are busy halter breaking, washing and clipping.   So far, calf dispositions have been great this year!   We are pleased to offer an extremely nice set of steers and several quality heifers this year.   Calves are now available for viewing – please contact us to set-up a time to visit.  Thank You!    

The calves enjoyed a cool down this evening (finally!).   New calf pictures are posted on the cattle page.  Calves will be weaned the week of August 15 and available for viewing starting the week of August 29.   Sale calves will be housed at the show barn of Kelley and Donnie’s house this year – 8179 North 650 West, Larwill.   Visitors are welcome.   Please give us a call to set a time to view the calves.  Thank You!

It’s county fair season and the success stories have started rolling in…congratulations to the following families/winners:

-Grand Champion Gilt/Champion Yorkshire Gilt, Whitley County – Jon, Deanna, Derek and Megan Kissinger.

-Grand Champion FFA market hog, 2011 Shippensburg (PA) Fair, Reed Morgan.   Reed also had Medium Weight Champion with another 3D pig.

-Grand Champion Maine Anjou Steer, Fifth Overall Steer and Champion Rookie Showman, Whitley County, Dillon Sheiss (this steer was a leftover from our 2010 sale.  His shorthorn cross mamma has a nice blue roan Walks Alone steer this year!)  3D also had Reserve Champion Shorthorn Steer at Whitley County this year, purchased by the Johnson Family.

-Reserve Grand Steer, Jefferson County (IN) – Thanks to Joe Jackson for your purchase of this fine Monopoly steer in our 2010 sale.
